1. Aang was born in a long-forgotten Southern Air Temple, which is why he lacked some Airbending training when first encountered by Katara and Sokka. He also had no knowledge of the dreaded Fire Nation’s impending attack until they arrived at the Southern Water Tribe village.

2. Aang shared a unique connection with sky bison Appa, who acted as his companion throughout his travels. It has been speculated that Aang had trained Appa from a very young age since ancient airbenders were able to ride sky bisons for transportation in the past.
